Cybeats recognized in Gartner Innovation Insight for SBOMs Report

April 22, 2022

Cybeats Recognized as a Representative Provider in 2022 Gartner® Innovation Insight for SBOMs Report

TORONTO, April 22, 2022 – Scryb Inc. (“Scryb''or the “Company”) (CSE: SCYB, OTCQB: SCYRF, Frankfurt: EIY), a cloud-based solution powering businesses with applied intelligence, real-time analytics, and actionable insights, is pleased to report that Cybeats has been recognized as a

Representative Provider in the 2022 Gartner Innovation Insight for SBOMs1 Report.     Gartner, Inc

provides actionable, objective insights, guidance, and tools that enable faster, smarter decisions and stronger performance on an organization’s most mission-critical priorities.

Gartner InnovationInsight for SBOMs report stated: "SBOMs improve the visibility, transparency, security, and integrity of proprietary and open-source code in software supply chains." To realise these benefits, software engineering leaders should integrate SBOMs throughout the software delivery life cycle.

"With cyberattacks occurring on a much more frequent basis, we are seeing organisations across all industries ramp up their SBOM capabilities," said Dmitry Raidman, CTO of Cybeats. "Cybeats SBOM Studios solves software development teams' cybersecurity challenges by automating SBOMs for all software produced, verifying SBOMs for software consumed, and using SBOM data to continuously assess security and compliance risks before, during, and after deployment. SBOM Studio mitigates security and compliance risk in software, "allowing software engineers and developers to sleep at night!"

The Gartner report goes further and states:

"Software engineering leaders responsible for building software applications should:

●         Enhance visibility into the complete software supply chain by tracking dependencies between open-source components in software development life cycle (SDLC) using SBOMs.

●         Discover affected components and share vulnerability data by using SBOM standards to exchange information about components and their relationships.

●         Ensure SBOMs are rebuilt along with software artifacts by generating SBOMs during the software build process rather than relying on pregenerated SBOM data. Use software

composition analysis tools to generate and verify SBOMs for third-party, open-source components.

●   Mitigate software supply chain security risks by requesting commercial software providers to provide standards-based (e.g., software package data exchange [SPDX], software identification [SWID], Cyclone DX) SBOMs during the procurement process.”

We believe Cybeats SBOM Studio was named in this Gartner report because it is known as a leading commercial SBOM tool and enterprise-class solution for manufacturing software applications; it effectively tracks the makeup of the software and assesses and identifies potential security risks. The software bill of materials is an inventory of every component of software that is included in an application. With over 90% of software applications developed using existing software components, there are many potential threats and vulnerabilities across most software.

SBOM Studio is an enterprise-class solution that tracks third-party components, which are an integral part of software development. It automatically documents and tracks software components, identifying where they were developed, potential security risks, and establishing a plan for maintenance that will prevent security posture degradation over the life of the application. Software consumers or producers can use SBOMStudio to improve security and compliance, visibility and traceability of software, and data sharing.

Cybeats’ SBOM Studio includes key capabilities to improve cybersecurity during and after software application development:

1.      Automation of SBOMs during the build process including analysis of source code and binaries (e.g., container images, zip files, dynamic link libraries [DLLs]) to generate SBOMs for legacy software and artifacts, with the ability to modify SBOMs.

2.      Reporting interface providing software development teams to view, compare, import, validate, and share SBOMs in an intuitive format.

3.      Flexibility to merge and translate SBOM contents from one format or file type to another, and supports the use of SBOM manipulation in other tools via APIs and libraries.

Cybeats recently reported it has deployed its SBOM STUDIO product suite to three large organizations. The first is a multinational aerospace company that develops and sells aviation and defence technologies worldwide. The second organisation is a noteworthy cryptocurrency exchange based in the

U.S. These two organisations are using SBOM Studio to test the respective security of their software supply chains while improving compliance and reporting. The third company is a multinational IoT accessories company, which commenced a pilot engagement for its IoT security product suite. SBOM Studio will automate the tracking of third-party components that are an integral part of Cybeats’ clients' software development and provide developers with cloud-based reporting.
